3.wirelesslanconnection(wi-fi802.11b/g):needtoplugwlanusbdongle(optional)intooneoftheusbportsontherearpaneloftheg500andconnecttointernetthroughwirelessrouter.setupyourwirelessaccesspoint(ap)orrouteraccordingtotheinstructionsthatcomewithit.youmayneedtoknowyourwirelessaccesspoint(ap)orrouter’snetworknameandencryptionkeysforsecuritypurposeinsettingupprocedure.

note:theg500onlysupportsthewlanusbdonglethatweapproved.

4.plugtheacadapterintothedcinjackontherearpaneloftheg500,andthepowerledonthefrontpanelwouldbelightedwithredcolor.

3.quicksetup

3.1powerong500,youwillseebelowpictureontvscreen.ifthisisyourfirsttimetouseg500,therewillbenoprogramlistin“programlist”menu.

3.2pressleftorrightbuttononremotecontroller.select“config”menu.choose“networkconfig”sub-menu.pressthenumericbuttonstoinputthepassword.(defaultpasswordis0000).

thenyouwillseethreeconnectiontypeofinternet:wire,pppoeandwireless.

ifyourwirednetworketer,huborswitchusingdhcptoassignipaddressautomatically,bydefaultg500withinthelocalareanetwork(lan)willautomaticallyrerrelatedinformationoverthenetworksetupinthedhcpofnetworksettingmenu.ifyournetworkdoesnothavedhcpserver,ortheinternetconnectionofthisg500doesnotwork,switchtonetworksettingmodetosetuptheconnectingwayandvariousparametersmanually.

whentheg500isinitiallypoweredonandconnectedtonetworkcompletely,youneedtoinputthenetworksettingvaluedependingonwhichconnectiontypeyourlocalisp（internetserviceprovider）supplied.

ifyouhavewirelessrouterorap(accesspoint),youcanlinkyourg500totheinternet.pleaseenterthenetworksettingmodetoselectwi-fi,andinputkeystogetaccesstowirelesshomenetwork.

2.pressthe“up,down”buttontoselectthe“dhcp”connectiontype,therewillbeabluemarkappearingattheleftsideofdhcp.thenpressexitbutton,therewillbeareminderwhichshows“confirmthenewconfigandrebootstb?”,selectokoptiontoconfirmthisconfiguration.

dhcpistheabbreviationofdynamichostconfigurationprotocol,whichisusedtoauto-assignipaddresseswithinalan.ifthisg500isalreadyconnectedtothelaneepoweredon,youjustneedtoswitchtodhcpofnetworksettingmenutoacectly.

3.2.2staticipaddress

1.ifuserwantstosetstaticip,justpressdownbuttononremotecontrollerandselect“staticip”optiontosetip.

2.pressthenumericbuttonstoinputthevalueofipaddress,netmask,gateway,anddnstextboxrespectivelybyremotecontrol.

3.thenpressexitbutton,therewillbeareminderwhichshows“confirmthenewconfigandrebootstb?”,selectokoptiontoconfirmthisconfiguration.

3.2.3pppoenetworksetting

1.pressthe“up,down”buttontoselectthe“pppoe”connectiontype,andpressthe“ok”buttontoenterthepppoenetworkconfigurationmenu.

2.thenumericbuttonstoinputoneoftheid(usename),orpasswordtextspace.

pppoeistheabbreviationofpoint-to-pointoverethernetprotocol,whichisusedbymanyinternetserviceproviders.anid(username)andpasswordshouldbeprovided.
