Product Description andUse
Piccolyte® C85 polyterpeneresin is a pale, neutral, low molecular weight, highly stable,thermoplastic resin. Produced fromd-limonen,anatural terpene of citrus origin, it is characterized by its lightcolor, resistance to aging, and high thermal stability. It isparticularly designed as a masticatory/softening agent andplasticizer in chewing gum compositions. In gum base it has similarhardness to a glycerol ester of rosin, but with the superior taste,odor, and stability characteristics of a polyterpene. Proprietaryprocessing produces a resin low in volatiles, providing forenhanced organoleptic performance. This resin is also ahighly effective tackifier for both elastomeric- andthermoplastic-based adhesive systems.
